za4b6157.jpgKate Dyer Seeley holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oregon, in Communication Disorders and Sciences. She worked for four years on speech and language development in an early intervention program. Kate decided to take the plunge into small business ownership in 1999 and co-created urbanabox.com, an online creative gift box company. Kate’s creative press kits translated into national press for the company from outlets including the Oxygen Network, and publications such as Vogue International, Jane magazine, Lucky magazine and Entrepreneur magazine. urbanabox grew into a corporate gift company, servicing clients such as Xerox, Microsoft and Nike. Kate sold the company in 2004 after the birth of her son.

Kate is a freelance marketing specialist. She writes everything from creative content for websites, to email newsletters and press releases. Kate has appeared on a variety of regional morning programs as a spokesperson for her varied clients. She has been seen on AM Northwest, Good Day Oregon, as well as the local NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates multiple times.

Kate is a national advocate for Alzheimer’s disease.  She speaks frequently for the Alzheimer’s Association, at conferences and events.  After years of volunteering and serving on the board of directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, Kate officially put her passion to work.  She is the Communication and Public Policy Coordinator for the Oregon Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.   

Kate’s mom was officially diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at age 55. She died five years later. Kate has written a memoir, Underneath the Ash, about her experience becoming a mother for the first time while losing her mother to Alzheimer’s.

Kate lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband and son.
