Now Duck fans don’t get too excited – the Ducks have not snuck their way into a BCS game, but if USC can put the smack down on UCLA today we should be headed to the Holiday Bowl. Since USC opted to fore go a timeout in order to wear their red uniforms, I’m guessing their fairly confident of a win. As a Duck fan, I’ll be thrilled with a trip to sunny San Diego. As an Alzheimer’s advocate, I’m thrilled that the BCS and Fox Sports has selected the Alzheimer’s Association as one of four charities to sponsor this season.
This year while you watch your favorite football team you can help tackle Alzheimer’s disease. The Association will be featured during BCS games this season through in-game and pre-game mentions. FOX Sports announcers will work to educate viewers about the disease and the services available through the Alzheimer’s Association.
You can help too. Host a viewing party and invite your cronies over to watch your favorite college team. If you’re road tripping with your team you can host a tailgate on site. The Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging you to ask your fellow football fans for $5 donations in honor of the 5.2 million Americans living with the disease.
So, stalk up on salsa, grill some dogs, and help tackle Alzheimer’s!
