Ugh-so I noticed that my last couple posts have been lengthy and chocked full of medical research and terminology. I was downloading photos of Luke’s field trip to a local pumpkin patch this evening and found this gem. I thought it only fitting to lighten the load and share.
There is a back story to this photo, which is that it’s hardly difficult to find great microbrews in the Northwest. Seriously, even the crappy convenience stores have selections that would cause my East coast friends to salivate. Needless to say we can be a bit snobby about our brews-think terms like “craft.” One of our favorite craft breweries is Walking Man located maybe forty minutes from us in the Columbia River Gorge.
Their beers like my favorite, Knuckle Dragger, and Gordy’s, Black Cherry Stout, are fantastic because they brew such small batches. The only downside is that consuming them requires a forty minute drive to refill growlers. After a number of botched trips to the brewery this summer, (mainly because we didn’t bother to look up hours of operation before venturing out on our beer quest) we finally managed a pint. Well, I managed a pint. Gordy selflessly tasted all of our options to ensure we came home with only the finest ale offerings. Given his relentless political blogging as of late, I’m confident should you require a taste tester I have one for hire. Cheers!
