I watched The Jane Austen Book Club last weekend. I read the book years ago, and loved it. Sometimes I worry about movie adaptations of books I really love (with the exception of any BBC version of Austen), but this didn’t disappoint. Emily Blunt was fantastic as Prudie. I’d forgotten how many Ursula Le Guin references there are in the book, and subsequently the movie.
Yesterday I was walking by a bookstore on my way to coffee when something caught my eye. What was prominently displayed in the front window? A collection of books by Ursula Le Guin of course. The third Ursula sign came today as my dad began quoting her poetry while we strolled the Washington Park grounds.
Okay I get it. It’s time to read some Ursula. No problem-easy to do.
