My motto for this new year, great in 2008! I hope it will begin with getting more attention for the growing Alzheimer’s epidemic. As a national advocate for Alzheimer’s disease I’ll be working diligently this coming year on helping to ensure legislation like the Ending the Medicare Disability Waiting Period Act of 2007 (S 2102) that Jeff Bingaman introduced gets passed. Here’s a link if you’re interested in reading more about the bill, click here. I’ll be pounding the pavement, writing my representatives at Congress, and attending the Alzheimer’s Public Policy forum in Washington D.C. in the spring.
Luke is back to school tomorrow. I think we’re both looking forward to re-establishing our routine. We spent the holidays on Mt. Hood, with epic snow, over four feet of new snow fell during our stay. Christmas Eve at Timberline Lodge was magical as always. The rest of our trip we spent sledding, drinking Christmas wine, drying wet socks by the fire, and as Luke likes to repeat frequently avoiding the yellow snow! Here’s to health in the new year.
